Kantar Media and CRI Privacy Policy

Thank you for participating in our research study!

Kantar Media and CRI have been conducting consumer research in the U.S. since 2001. Throughout that time, we have been committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals and households who participate in our surveys. Our ability to collect accurate information on consumer preferences and attitudes depends largely on earning the trust of our respondents, so safeguarding your personal information is a primary responsibility of our research team. This privacy policy explains how we protect respondent privacy and use the data collected in our surveys.

Personal information

  • Survey participants will not be identified for marketing or sales efforts as a result of taking part in our research studies.
  • Personal information such as name, address, phone number, and email address is not associated with survey data.
  • We take great care to store individually identifying information on secure networks and kept in separate files, apart from data collected in the survey.
  • The personal information used to contact you is acquired by fair and legal means, collected from publicly available sources such as telephone directories or from national database list providers.
  • Your participation is voluntary and you have a choice whether or not to disclose information.
  • We may re-contact you in the future to either validate your responses or invite you to participate in a follow-up survey. Again, participation is voluntary and we will remove your name from our contact list on request.

The data we collect

  • We ask standard demographic questions such as age, number of household members, and income, in order to ensure that our study data accurately reflects the target population of our study (i.e., U.S. Consumers aged 18+).
  • Your responses are combined with answers from other survey participants in our reports to our clients so that no individual or household is recognizable.
  • Our survey may ask about sensitive topics such as dieting, exercise, health, or ailment treatment options. All information collected adheres to our privacy policy, and your name and other personal information will not be associated with that survey data.
  • Kantar Media uses the non-personal information collected in our surveys in the creation of statistical data that helps companies understand consumer awareness, use, and satisfaction with products, services and media. We may also use the input you provide in the development or modeling of broad consumer segments that can be reached with relevant communications, marketing or advertising.
  • Kantar Media may work with trusted partners sharing data obtained from our survey research in the development of consumer segments. In these efforts, we require strict agreements that comply with our privacy policy. Any individually identifiable information is kept separate from survey data, for the privacy of our respondents.
  • In some of our studies conducted online, we use cookies to collect certain anonymous information about how users navigate the websites they access. A cookie is a small text file that contains a unique number stored on your computer's hard drive. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie and you can choose where to accept it. To opt out of cookies, go to Click Here.
